Experience the excitement of the Norwegian winter on a week-long arctic adventure that combines a quick visit to Oslo with an overnight in an igloo and a night on the Norwegian Coastal Voyage. Situated high above the Arctic Circle in Lapland, the Alta Igloo Hotel is made entirely of ice and snow. Each year, it's decorated according to a different theme; in the past these have ranged from Norse sagas to arctic animals. Your bed is made of ice, but it's covered with a reindeer hide and a sleeping bag. You'll be surprised what a snug slumber you'll have despite the chill. Choose from a variety of exciting excursions: snowmobiling, dog sledding or a horse-drawn sleigh tour. Savor a nightcap at the Ice Bar, then relax in the sauna before bed.

Day 2: Morning arrival. Transfer to your hotel, and explore Oslo.
Day 3: Back to the airport for your flight to Alta. This afternoon, take an excursion. Tonight, sample a traditional Sami dinner.
Day 4: Transfer to the North Cape. Afterward, join the Norwegian Coastal Voyage at Honningsvag. Sail east overnight.
Day 5: After morning arrival at Kirkenes, transfer to your hotel.
Day 6: Transfer to the airport for your flight to Oslo.

• Snowmobile Tour, roar across the snow-covered arctic plains on snowmobiles.
• Dog Sledding, travel by dog sled over the snow-laden tundra, and then enjoy a warm drink in a traditional Sami tent.
• Horse-Drawn Sleigh, a sleigh ride along the frozen Alta River is a magical experience, especially when you spy the Northern Lights.

• King Crab Safari, at a choice fishing spot, your guide will catch several of these gigantic crustaceans, and then upon your return to land, prepare them for you. Now this is as fresh as seafood gets!
• Swimming in the Barents Sea, travel by snowmobile to the Barents Sea, where you'll don dry suits, so you can float comfortably in the icy waters. Then warm up with some hot tea and a sauna.
• Barents Safari, after snowmobiling across the frozen sea, learn about Sami life as you relax with a drink by the fire in a traditional dwelling.
• Dog Sledding, a dog sledding expedition along the Russian border; ends with a traditional Sami wilderness meal.
